Our Activities
- Propose and advocate for the enactment of legislation and the issuance of administrative rules and regulations to promote civic engagement in Iowa. ACE successfully advocated for the enactment of 2025 legislation that made passage of the US citizenship civics test a condition for high school graduation.
- The establishment and maintenance of a summer fellowship program and institute for Iowa Social studies educators.
- The establishment and maintenance of an Information Clearinghouse of materials regarding civic education and engagement, particularly materials for teachers and students.
- The creation of a civics competition for high school students.
